Education built around values
Year 12 - 13
From 16 to 18 years of age
In Key Stage 5, students are in non-compulsory education. The focus of our Sixth Form is to prepare students for university studies. We do not offer vocational training. The curriculum follows A-level courses in the British Curriculum and Pruebas de Competencia Especifica (PCE) courses in the Spanish curriculum. Students study the same subjects in both Year 12 and Year 13.
Key Stage 5
At the International English School of Castellon we offer the following A-level subjects:
In Year 12, students normally complete the full A-level Spanish course and 3 Advanced Subsidiary courses (AS Levels).
In Year 13, the students complete the second part of the A-level course in these 3 subjects and take A2 examinations to obtain full ‘A’ Levels.
University preparation lessons in Spanish continue for those aiming to enter Spanish universities. Students who wish to study at Spanish universities also follow one of the 3 PCE strands which we offer: Health Sciences (ciencias de salud), Technological Sciences (ciencias tecnologicas) and Social Science (ciencias sociales). These strands are taught in Spanish by our experienced bachillerato teachers. PCE exams are taken at the UNED centre in Villarreal.
